THANE: The Wagle crime branch of unitV, arrested three people for storing raw materials used for manufacturing country liquor.
The arrested accuseds are identified as Ramkrishna Halya Patil (48), Sagar Ramchandra Patil (20) and Jitendra Tulsi Chowdhary (32). All the arrested accuseds are believed to be the residents of Mograpada at Ovala Village.
According to the information, Ramkrishna Patil was involved in supplying raw ingredients like black jaggery, chemical adulterant commonly known as Navsagar' that is used extensilvely for manufacturing country liquor.

Acting on a tipp off, under the guidance of K P Raghuvanshi, commissioner of police, Milind Bharamber, additional commissioner of police (ACP) crime, DCP Srikant Paropkari and ACP Pandit Kendre, crime branch unit V of Wagle Estate carried a raid on one of the room at laxmi Niwas where the raw materials were stored.
"Police have recovered 22,500 kilos of black jaggery, Navsagar and three-wheelers that were used to transport the goods. The seized goods are worth about Rs 10.61 L. The arrested accussed have been seent to police custody for further investigations and a case is registered with Kasarvadavali police station," said a police officer who was part of the team that carried out the raid.
